Youthful broadcaster Yunis Dekow has left Star FM where he was attached to for the last two years, NEP journal has learnt.
Close associate to the journalist said he will be joining Radio Midnimo where he is scheduled to further his broadcasting career.
Prior to his departure from Star FM, Yunis headed the planning department, hosted a daily Swahili show and was the current affairs reporter.
The award winning reporter started practicing his broadcast career at a tender age of 16 while in high school. He has previously worked for Risala FM and Sifa FM based in Garissa and Key FM in Nairobi before joining Star FM in early 2016.
He was awarded a trophy of Service by the Kiswahili Professor, Wallah Bin Wallah in recognition of his outstanding contributions in encouraging the general public to embrace Swahili as a national and unifying language.
Star FM is known to have shaped leading journalist in Kenya from the Northern region, however the station is currently under stiff completion for listeners a new report shows, Radio Midnimo is currently leading in listenership in Wajir and Mandera.
