The World Bank is set to invest up to US dollars 1billion in Northern Kenya in the areas of infrastructural development, energy, water and connectivity to the Internet via fibre optic links.
This was discussed in a meeting on Friday between World Bank senior officials and governors from the seven counties comprising of the Frontier Counties Development Council (FCDC) at the Institution’s Nairobi offices.
Vice President of the World Bank Mr. Mukhtar Diop and the Bank’s Country Director, Kenya Mrs. Diarietou Gaye attended the meeting.
Governors Nathif Jama (Garissa), Ahmed Abdullahi (Wajir), Ali Roba (Mandera), Godana Doyo (Isiolo) and his Deputy Mohamed Guleid attended the function.
