Residents of Wajir County joined the rest of the World on Sunday to mark the World food day in style with an array of locally grown foods, fruits and vegetables on display among other products.
County department of Livestock, Agriculture and fisheries spearheaded the event held at the famous Orahey grounds.
The department showcased drought tolerant seeds of cowpeas, millet and sorghum as well as Agricultural equipment provided to famers.
Officials used the occasion to educate local residents and farmers on food security and modern farming practices.
County Secretary Abdirizack Sheikh oversaw the function which was also attended by CECs Yussuf Gedi (Livestock and Agriculture), Habiba Hussein (Education) and Chief Officers RoneyMayow (Livestock), Dr. Mohamed Abdirahman (Agriculture). Others were Director of Livestock Hassan Mohamed and town clerk Nassir Harun.
