A first time Member of Parliament from Wajir County is considering selling his party ticket after realizing his clansmen may drop him in the clan’s negotiated democracy process.
The MP is reportedly demanding Kshs 200M for the coveted ticket while his rival has offered up to Kshs 150M.
Negotiations are reportedly underway to complete the transaction with the trading MP already intensifying the search for his second option. He was recently spotted at a city hotel with a Key politician under whose party he may contest in the coming elections.
The MP has enjoyed rosy relations with key members of his clan in the recent past leading him to play his cards closer to his chest and use the party ticket as his ‘JOCKER’.
Some of those pushing for his ouster were instrumental in his election in 2013 but decided to send him home this time round after he deserted them.
The MP has also reportedly fallen out with both the youth and elders of his clan.
