Abdullahi is facing stiff competition in his bid to retain Wajir’s top seat.

Wajir governor Ahmed Abdullahi has on Saturday refuted claims on social media indicating his Karen home was raided by officials from the Ethics and anti-corruption Commission.

In a statement signed by the County Press Director Yahya Dahiye, the Governor dismissed the allegations as outrageous and blamed it on his opponents.

“The blatant allegations circulating in social media are malicious, outrageous and far-fetched. They should be treated with the contempt they deserve,” reads a statement to newsrooms a copy of which Nep Journal has received.

Abdullahi urged his competitors to promote their ideas and plans for the county rather than turn to ‘malicious and defamatory propaganda’.

The allegations came as the Governor was in Nairobi where he is expected to attend the unveiling of opposition coalition NASA’s flag bearer on Thursday.
