DP helps raise 73M for Mandera’s Eltabashi Educational Trust

Mandera Governor Ali Roba welcomes Deuty President William Ruto as Majority Leader Aden Duale looks on. Ruto was the Chief guest of a fundraiser in aid of a Mandera County’s Eltabashi Educational Trust held in Nairobi on Wednesday.








Deputy President William Ruto on Wednesday helped raise shillings 73 million for Eltabashi Educational Trust of Mandera County.

The fundraising held at a Nairobi hotel was attended by leaders from the three counties of Mandera, Wajir and Garissa as well as members of the business community.

The Trust is a waqf (endowment) for madrassas in Rhamu, Banissa, Takaba, Elwak & Shimbir Fatuma in Mandera County. It has bought a land in Nairobi and is putting up an 8-storey building to generate income for running the institutions.

General construction work has completed for the basement, ground, 1st, & 2nd floors and an additional Kshs 100 million was required to complete the apartment block at the time of the fundraiser.

Leaders present include the Cabinet Secretary for Industrialization Aden Mohamed, House Majority leader Aden Duale, Governors of Wajir, Garisa and Mandera Counties Ahmed Abdullahi, Nathif Jama and Ali Roba respectively.

Others were Wajir Senator Abdirahman Hassan, Wajir Women MP Fatuma Ibrahim and her Mandera and Tanariver counterparts Fathia Mahboub and Halima Ware respectively among other leaders from the region.
