Two men accused of raping and killing a 16 year old girl in a Wajir Village last week were on Monday morning arraigned at the Wajir Law Courts to face charges of rape and murder.
The case could not however proceed after the prosecution applied for an additional two weeks to hold the two in custody to enable them carry out more investigations.
The State was also granted orders to exhume the body of the deceased which was hurriedly buried by relatives before any investigations were launched.
Tarbaj OCS Chief Inspector Stephen Koskey will oversee the exercise.
The two suspects will now appear before the High court in Garissa on May 30, 2016 after the case was referred by the local judge.
