TURKEY DONATION TO CHANGE TO CHANGE THE FACE OF GARISSA

The Turkish Government through the Turkish Co-ordination and Co-operation Agency (TIKA) has donated six ultra modern garbage collection trucks and skips to the County Government of Garissa.

This will enhance garbage and solid waste management in the town and its environs.

Speaking in Garissa when he received the trucks from TIKA, Garissa Governor Nathif Jama thanked the Turkish government for their donation which he termed as ‘kind’ and called on residents to put into good use the garbage collection trucks in order to improve sanitation levels in the town.

Advisor of the Mayor of Istanbul Mr. Ismail Haki who was part of the Turkish delegation said that Turkey would continue to provide much support to the people of Garissa and Kenya in general.

He added that Turkey has been supportive to the people of Garissa especially during the last drought season.

The Turkish government has previously donated medical equipment worth millions of shillings to the Garissa General Hospital.
