Three government soldiers were killed on Wednesday in an explosion in capital Mogadishu.
Senior Somali Police officer, Capt. Mohamed Hussein said a vehicle loaded with ammunition exploded after the security forces intercepted at Hawo Tako village of Wadajir district.
He said two youthful men were on board when police intercepted the vehicle after suspicion. One escaped and other arrested after police injured him while in an effort to escape.
Hussein did not give details on the death of security officials.
Locals told Nep Journal that three bomb disposal unit soldiers lost their lives while trying to defuse the explosives attached the vehicle that was planned for attack on targeted government officials.
No group claimed responsibility so far but Al-Shabaab militant which is waging years-long insurgency against the Somali government and for years controlled much of central and southern Somalia launched similar attacks.
