Preparations have been completed for the swearing in ceremonies of Garissa governor-elect Ali Bunow Korane and his Wajir counterpart Mohamed Abdi Mohamud.
Korane’s event will take place at the Garissa Primary school grounds while Mohamud’s will be done at the Wajir Stadium.
Both governors and their respective deputies will take the oath of office following their election on August 8, 2017.
The two ceremonies are expected to attract high profile guests including Jubbaland State of Somalia’s President Ahmed Madobe who is expected in Garissa.
Unconfirmed reports also indicate president of the Ogadenia region of Ethiopia is also expected to grace Korane’s inauguration.
Details of Mohamud’s ceremony however remain scanty.
Mohamud and Korane of the ruling jubilee party floored Ahmed Abdullahi and Nathif Jama of the opposition coalition respectively in the hotly contested August 8 polls.
Korane is deputized by Abdi Dagane Muhumed while Mohamud is deputized by the youthful Ahmed Muktar.
