President Uhuru Kenyatta has on Thursday received President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo of Somalia at State House on his first state visit.
Farmaajo was accorded with 21-gun salutes as a formal welcome ceremony on the start of his three-day visit at State House.
At the formal welcome ceremonies at State House, Nairobi, the visiting Head of State inspected his first guard of honour mounted by a detachment of the Kenya Army in which National anthems of Somalia and Kenya were played by the military band.
Somali President Farmaajo held talks with his Kenyan counterpart Uhuru Kenyatta in strengthening bilateral relations between the two nations before they led their delegation.
President Kenyatta who attended the inauguration of President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed in Mogadishu last month pledged Kenya’s continued support to Somalia as well as other Horn of Africa countries.
He also assured Kenya would remain steadfast in spearheading efforts that would bring peace and stability in neighbouring Somalia.
