A section of Wajir County residents were left in shock after local officials went to greater heights in their efforts to receive well the visiting President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Some of the projects the president is set launch include the newly built Medical Training College (MTC) which is yet to admit students.
It is believed students were shipped in from the neighboring Garissa County’s MTC to create the impression that the Wajir MTC was fully functional.
Local residents were caught unawares by the move with some who thought the admission slots have already been filled and their children left out allegedly thronging offices of concerned officials in protest.
As part of preparations to welcome the head of State in style, the County has also given the newly constructed tarmac roads a facelift with a thorough cleaning with water.
County officials denied any wrong doing saying although the County built the facility, it will be run by the Kenya Medical Training College which has seen it fit to bring in the students to welcome the President.
