Several people were this evening injured three of them seriously in a road accident near Mwingi town along the Mwingi – Nairobi highway after a bus hit a saloon car and a lorry.
The injured passengers were rushed to the Mwingi General Hospital where they are undergoing treatment.
A passenger in the ill-fated bus told Nepjournal on phone a saloon car with no headlights was involved in head-on coalition with the fast moving Garissa bound E-coach bus that left Nairobi at around 4.30pm on Sunday.
He added the bus driver jumped out of the moving bus before it ramped into a lorry. The fate of the bus driver was not known by the time of going to press.
Among the passengers were a team traveling to the North Eastern town of Garissa to witness the reopening of Garissa University College on Monday, January 4 almost a year after the institution suffered a deadly Al-shabaab attack.
