Confusion has marred service delivery at the Mandera County referral hospital after a recent restricting by the health CEC left many staff stranded.
Sources indicate staff deployment is yet to be done officially as those affected by the restructuring were yet to receive deployment letters hence creating confusion on where they should serve.
Mandera MCA for the youth Jamaldin Adan Ahmed confirmed to Nepjournal that the confusion has affected service delivery at the hospital as key staff have been left hanging after being moved from their previous roles and yet to be officially confirmed to their new posts.
“If these staffs are not given appointment letters urgently so that they start their jobs, the people of Mandera County will suffer greatly given the already existing health challenges such as having the highest neonatal and maternal mortality rates in the Country” warned Jamaldin.
The confusion has put at risk the lives of hundreds of patient who rely on the facility for medication.
“It’s shocking that the lives of patients are put at risk due to simple management. The Health Department CEC shouldn’t gamble with patients’ lives” said the MCA
He called on the Health Department CEC to take immediate steps to save lives and avoid further suffering of the already frail patients.
