The opposition leader may be planning to opt out of the repeat election which is set to take place on 26 October.

With only 2 weeks remaining before the repeat election Raila is seen not as much as his opponent on the campaign trails. Raila also traveled to the UK, where he is expected to deliver a lecture at Chatham House.

A number of Raila allies have hinted the same, his party Director of Elections Junet Mohammed said  there will be no reason to run in the election if all the Opposition demands were not met.

Junet claimed that participating in the election if “irreducible minimum” will not be met is only serving to legitimise Uhuru’s possible win.

On the other end the jubilee party officials have indicated the same saying Raila Odinga has opted to pull out of the repeat election but is awaiting for the court case which was filled by Dr Aukot.

Dr Aukot wants to be included in the repeat election and the case verdict will be delivered on Wednesday.

“Raila Odinga is planning to drop out of the race officially any time from now but the legal uncertainties are complicating his decision. Raila hoped that by dropping out of the race he would cause a crisis but a few cases in court are complicating matters for him,” Senate Leader of Majority Kipchumba Murkomen said.
