Police shot dead two “superpower “gangsters in Nairobi’s Eastleigh estate.

Police on Friday evening shot dead two superpower gangs in Eastleigh’s busy First avenue between Taisir and Amal Shopping malls.

The members of the notorious group “superpower” who were gun down were said to be a Somali and Oromo.

The two suspect were plaining to rob people moving along the streets before they were intercepted by the Flying Squad officers who received a tip-off.

Eastleigh which is one of Kenya’s growing commercial hubs has suffered insecurity with criminal groups targeting the estate.

The area which has witnessed emergence of several gang groups like the superpower and criminals from the nearby slums of Kiambiu and Mathare who set off fear among resident and business owners got relieved after police crackdown to get rid off gangsters was put in place.

However, Eastleigh residents reported reduction in robberies related cases for the last four months but today’s incidents instill fear to local residents and traders.
