Police in Queensland have confirmed a body found in Brisbane’s south-east belongs to missing woman Naima Hassan. The members of the public discovered her body on the bayside yesterday. She had been missing from Saturday after travelling by car to Wellington Point. She was last seen on CCTV purchasing chocolate at the Wellington Point BP service station.
Her car was found at Wellington Point on Sunday afternoon with her wallet and a backpack with active wear inside.Her phone and her phone charger were not there. Her phone last pinged from Birkdale, a family member told the press
The police say there were no suspicious circumstances to the woman’s death and referred the matter to the coroner. Acting Detective Inspector Richard Lacey from Upper Mount Criminal Investigation Branch said, ““We have no plain sign at this time what she was doing in the Wellington Point area on Sunday or where she may have spent Saturday night.”
“We are carrying out extensive inquiries into the disappearance of Naima. It is definitely out of character. Naima left home on Saturday morning and we’ve not seen any sign that she did not plan on coming back. Naima was of Somalian background
