Hundreds of passengers were left stranded after transport along major roads in North Eastern Kenya was paralyzed by the heavy rains pounding the area currently.
Wajir and Mandera counties normally get cut off from the rest of the country whenever it rains due to the poor state of roads in the region.
However, the rains come as a blessing to local nomads who drink from the roads-turned-temporary water troughs.
During the dry seasons, they trek for long distances in search of water or survive on water tracked by their respective county governments.
