Residents of Eastleigh district in Nairobi were today treated to a rare fanfare as they mingled freely with the police for the first time.

The force was on more than one occasions accused of high handedness and extortion when they came calling in the estate. Things were however different today as the friendly side of the police was on display as they held the first ever Police Road show in the area.

Speaking to the press at the end of the event, a former contestant for the seat of Member of County assembly for Eastleigh Ward Mr. Ahmed Kadar said that the move was aimed at fostering Public-police partnership which he added was important in the fight against crime.

The colorful event was organized by the Eastleigh community in conjunction with the police. The theme of the event was ‘Joint partnership towards reducing crime and violent extremism in our neighbourhoods’
