Mandera woman shot dead for pleading with attackers to spare lives of qaurry workers in last night’s attack

One of the victims of last night’s terror attack in Mandera was shot while pleading with the terrorists to spare the lives of the quarry workers, it has emerged.

Naima Mohamed was the only local who died in the 1 am attack according to the Kenya National Disaster Operation Center.

“Naima Mohamed pleaded with the gunmen to abandon their plans and save the lives of quarry workers but she was shot dead,” said Abdimajid Mohamed, a human rights activist.

Up to 14 people died in the attack while 10 others sustained injuries.

The Kenya Red Cross confirmed eight people who were seriously injured in the attack were air lifted to Nairobi for treatment while the rest were being treated at the Mandera County Referral Hospital.

The attack came days after Police released the photos of six terror suspects and warned of possible terror attacks in the country.
