Residents of the newly created Kutulo district in Mandera County have a reason to smile after the town’s upgrading came with some goodies.
Notable amongst the development strides coming home include electricity connection which is currently under way.
A section of area residents told this writer they were bracing themselves for more business opportunities with the acquisition of state of the art electronic equipment such as TVs and fridges.
“I am happy we would not need generators and solar panels anymore to generate electricity for hotels, shops and homes. Initially it was costly for us to store perishable goods as we used to incur a lot in fueling our small generators” Abdi Aliow, a resident of the town said.
A new borehole drilled courtesy of industrialization CS Aden Mohamed has also boosted water supply in the town.
Government services are also set to be brought closer to the people who would otherwise travel to the nearest district headquarters, Elwak.
