Man killed in Pangani by IED he was assembling

A man died in Pangani area this after an improvised explosive device (IED) he was reportedly assembling went off killing him on the spot.

According to Starehe OCPD Barasa Wabomba, the man, aged between 18 and 21, may not have been of Somali origin.

Mr. Wambora says the victim was connecting and testing the device when it went off.

Fingers are pointed by default on Somalis when such incidents occur despite the fact that even members of other communities carry out terror activities.

Three people also fled the scene of the explosion unhurt afterwards. The four story building also hosts a madrasa – Al Bushraa Islamic Centre and the explosion happened on the first floor.

The blast was heard several meters away and it broke windows and caused cracks on the walls.
