15 times KPL champions Gormahia have landed a five year sponsorship deal with Kenya’s leading sport betting firm, Sportpesa in a ceremony held at Nyayo National Stadium yesterday.
Speaking during the launch, Chairman Ambrose Rachier said that the club will now be in a position to fully cover for it’s expenses ranging from players salaries, recruitment fee among others which has been a disputed point for the last couple of years.
“For two and a half years we have been referred to as the broke Gor Mahia in many quarters. But today, Gor Mahia FC one of the oldest and most successful club in Kenya is delighted to announce a landmark 5 year sponsorship deal.”
-This is part of their commitment to football development in the country and a goal to help see Kenya take part in the world cup. The deal will cover payment of player salaries, world class player recruitment and official kitting. Rachier said as quoted in the club’s official website.
Gormahia announced the deal hours after their league rivals AFC leopards disclosed their partnership with Betway.
