Captain John Terry is a doubt for Tuesday’s Champions League last-16 round match against Paris St-Germain after limping off in the 5-1 win over Newcastle on Saturday.
Terry was forced off in the 39th minute hurting himself after an aerial challenge, the 35 year old was replaced by Baba Rahman with Branislav Ivanovic moving to centre-back.
The club say the England International may have a small muscular injury to his hamstring and will undergo a scan on Sunday.
Chelsea’s interim coach Guus Hiddink ruled out a possibility of the captain recovering due to lack recovery time.
He said: “We have just two days to recover [before playing PSG in the Champions League] and it is something to think about in the future because two days of recovery is not enough.”
