The electoral body has rejected some of the demands that the NASA coalition has called for in order to participate in the repeat election scheduled for October 26.

The opposition demanded that the replacement of the printing firm that printed the August 8 election but Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has already placed an order with Al Ghurair for printing presidential ballot papers.

The NASA has also demand the removal of top Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) including chief Executive Ezra Chiloba and other IEBC secretariat members, they also wants the secretariat to face criminal prosecution.

“They must face criminal prosecution. We urge these IEBC officials who have perpetrated a monumental crime against the people to do the right thing and resign,” said Raila.

The exclusion of the telecommunication firm of Safaricom as demanded by NASA may not be possible as an alternative telecommunication firm has not yet been identified.

IEBC said they have tried to meet reasonable demands but said the the commission does not have the luxury of time to put in place a proper electoral infrastructure.
To counter this NASA has resorted to demonstration until their demands are addressed, the party has also halted the talks they had with IEBC and jubilee demanding the ruling party to stop its plan to amend new electoral laws.
