Hundreds benefit from free iftar by Garissa youth group

More than 1000 people including patients, those nursing the sick and staff of the Garissa County referral hospital have so far benefited from a free iftar program initiated and administered by a group of youth in Garissa County under the banner Garissa Muslim Youth Association.

The program which entered its fourth day on Monday relies on well-wishers and volunteers and targets about 5,000 persons till the end of Ramadan.

Garissa County brand Ambassador Abdikadir Aden who joined volunteers on Monday appealed for more donations and support.

“Any person who wishes to join them can volunteer everyday starting at 05.00pm. Let’s join hands and support them” he appealed.

You can donate food stuffs, dates, packed juices, cookies, fruits, milk and drinking water among other items and drop them at the tent mounted next to Maternity Ward gardens, Garissa County Referral Hospital.
