More than fifty human right activists took to the streets in Nairobi to protest the murders of lawyer Willie Kimani, his client Josephat Mwenda and taxi driver, Joseph Muiruri.
Demanding answers from the Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinet, the group comprising of lawyers and representatives of rights groups held processions from Uhuru park’s freedom corner all the way to vigilance house but did not succeed to have an audience with the IG as he was said to be in a meeting.
Protesters however roughed up police spokesman Charles Owino after spotting him at freedom corner and demanded he accompany them to police headquarters.
They poured red pain on Owino and at one point tried to force him one of the coffins they were carrying.
The group later dumped the coffins outside vigilance house.
