Eldas MP Adan Keynan Wehliye today led his constituency in a successful tree planting planting session, graced by The PS State department of Natural Resources Dr. Margaret Mwakima.
An estimated 7000 trees were planted in different parts of Eldas in what the outspoken Jubilee MP said was “determination to make Eldas an environmental friendly hub’.
“This programme if adopted by all, can go a long way in turning our dry barren land into a productive and habitable place. I therefore encourage other constituencies in the Arid and Semi-arid areas to emulate this programme so that we can make our region a much better place to live in.” added the Eldas MP.
Keynan encouraged the public to adopt tree planting reminding them that “It is never too late to plant a tree”.
“It was once said, the best time to plant a tree is twenty years ago. The second best time is now.” he summed.
Residents took to their social media accounts to commend the tree planting initiative organized by the MP.

The event was also attended by other dignitaries including the Director Kenya Forest Service Dr. Emilio, Deputy Director Drylands KEFRI Mr. Luvanda, Wajir County Commissioner Mr. Chelimo, Members of Wajir County Assembly, Wajir county CECs and CCOs.
