By NJ Correspondent:

Residents of several neighborhoods in Garissa town have a reason to smile after a high yield borehole was commissioned at the ADC primary school on Saturday.

Area MP and Majority leader in the National Assembly Aden Duale who launched the water source said the it will supply water to Bulla ADC, Gestow and Baraka among others.

The borehole was funded by Direct Aid Kenya through the Kuwait Government after an official request from the area MP’s office. It will be supported by a 10 meter high rise steel tank with a 40,000 litres capacity on a solar powered engine.

Duale promised to introduce a modern system that can reduce the salinity of the borehole water and thanked the Director of Direct Aid Dr. Ismail who was present for partnering with him in supporting the local community through provision of clean water.
