Gunmen suspected to be Al-Shabaab members have killed a senior intelligence office in the capital Mogadishu on Thursday.

The late NISA officer Mohamud Haji Ali was shot dead by two men armed with pistol-wielding.

He was shot at Mana-Boliyo junction in the capital’s Shibis district.

The gunmen escaped immediately foot before the security agencies arrived at the scene.

A senior police who asked anonymity told Nep Journal that the officer died on the spot after the gunmen shot him on the head and chest.

No group has claimed responsibility so far.

Al-Shabaab has been in decline since 2011, but still control some areas planning and carrying out bomb attacks against government officials, civilians, politicians and humanitarian aid workers.
