Garissa Governor Nathif Jama has on Monday sent packing four county executive committee members for sleeping on the job.

The axed executives are Environment, Energy and Natural Resources CEC Mr. Salah Yakub, Education, Public Service, Intergovernmental and Labour Relations in charge Hussein Hajir and his trade counterpart Idriss Mukhtar as well as Water’s Mukhtar Bulale.

Sources told Nepjournal that the governor has accused the four of going against his administration’s service delivery policy becoming an eyesore to his administration as a result.

In a tense meeting last week, he prevailed upon them giving them three days to respond to the allegations and justify why they should not be axed.

Governor Nathif has on more than one occasion warned non-performing members of his government saying service delivery will not be compromised.

Although it has taken him long, today’s move vindicates him.
