Former Wajir DG nominated for CEC position

The former deputy governor of wajir Abdihafid Abdullahi Yarow was nominated by the current governor of Wajir, Mohamed Abdi Mohamud for the position of county executive committee.

Abdihafid Abdullahi Yarow was nominated for the position of water services, sanitation, irrigation and fisheries and he awaits approvals.

The governor of Wajir county Mohamed Abdi Mohamud has on Wednesday announced his 10 member cabinet members saying he selected the most qualified persons among all the applicants.

Abdihafid  was a close associate to the former Governor of wajir Ahmed Abdullahi, the two parted ways months before the August 8 election forcing Ahmed Abdullahi to pick another running mate for his re election bid.

Toward the August general election Abdihafid Abdullahi Yarow sided with Mohamed Abdi Mohamud, who was then contesting for governor seat, MPs Adan Keynan (Eldas), Mohamed Elmi (Tarbaj), Abass Sheikh (Wajir East), Ibrahim Saney (Wajir North) Nominated Senator Halima Abdille, Speaker of the County Assembly of Wajir Bishar Omar to counter his former boss.

Mr. Abdihafid accused Abdullahi of “stifling and blatantly ignoring the principles of Devolution” hence crippling the County in North Eastern Kenya.

Meanwhile the governor of Mandera Ali Roba is expected to announce his cabinet members today.
