By NJ Correspondent:

Administration police officers were targeted in a roadside bomb in Liboi district of Garissa County on Thursday morning.

According to eyewitness, several soldiers are feared dead, after their vehicle ran over a landmine along Malelei-Kulan road of Liboi.

Kenya Red Cross through its twitter confirmed on Thursday that close to five soldiers killed in the attack.

Three AP officers from Kulan Administration police post were killed and two other seriously injured after their vehicle was hit by a remote-controlled roadside bomb near Kulan dam of Liboi district yesterday early morning.

The latest deadly explosions came after Inspector-General of Police Joseph Boinnet warned that some members of the terrorist group Al-Shabaab had sneaked into the country and were planning attacks.

The IGP, however, said that police were on high alert, but asked the public to be vigilant and report suspicious people to the police.
