The English Football Association (FA) is investigating two alleged incidents of coins being thrown at players.
Stoke City goalkeeper Jack Butland apparently had a small object thrown at him during his sides 2:1 victory over Aston villa.
QPR players were apparently targeted as they celebrated their the second goal in their 2:0 victory against Birmingham.
“The club will continue to review video footage and liaise with the Metropolitan and West Midlands police,” a QPR statement said.
An FA spokesman says that they have launched investigations.
“We are aware of the incidents at Stoke and Queens Park Rangers and looking into them,”
On the other hand Birmingham spokesman called for calmness and requested club officials to give room for investigations: “If anybody is found to have thrown a coin, we will take the strongest possible action. As a club, we utterly condemn that sort of behavior.
“We will be liaising with the relevant bodies, including West Midlands Police, to investigate such allegations.”
