Eight arraigned in Garissa court for illegal stay in the country

Eight Somali nationals were today arraigned in a Garissa court for being in the country illegally.

The group who are said to be from Mogadishu and Hargeisa were arrested at Kobobey on their way to Nairobi on Sunday, January 1, 2017.

Garissa senior resident Magistrate Victor Asiyo directed police to take four out of the eight to hospital to ascertain their age since they are under the age of 18.

They will now be held in custody pending further investigations.
