The Garissa Township Member of Parliament Aden Duale has condemned the 14 October terrorist attack in the capital of Somalia Mogadishu, Duale also prayed for the quick recovery of the injured and asked God mercy for the killed ones.
“I strongly condemn the heinous terrorist attack in Mogadishu, Somalia. My deepest condolences to the families of these killed in the attack” said the Majority leader.
On Saturday afternoon a massive explosion rock the capital of Somalia, many said it is the biggest explosion ever witnessed in Somalia. Hundreds of kilograms of explosives material was used in the attack which happened at the entrance of busy hotel.
Another explosion happened moments after the first one, the later claimed two lives, the number of dead is now at 85 people, 200 people were injured in the attack and were rushed to the hospitals.
The Somali president visited the scene and the hospitals were the injured are treated, he asked Somalis to unite in order to win against the terrorist groups in Somalia, the president also declared three days of mourning for the victims.
The United States have also condemned the attack in Mogadishu saying they will stand with the Somali government during the tragic moment.
“We extend our deepest condolences to the families of those who perished and wish a speedy recovery to individuals injured in the blasts,” Reads the United States statement.
The attacks comes only a day after the defense minister and the Somali Army chief resigned from their position citing personal reasons.
