A rare skin disease that swept Wajir County recently continues counting as new cases identified day in day out.
Misky Bulle a young girl from Barwaqo location Wajir East Sub-County who is now receiving medication at Kenyatta National Hospital after she was sponsored by Wajir County Government was first victim identified with rare skin disease.
A week later, three children having similar rare skin disease with Misky were reported in the same household in Buna Wajir North Sub-County. Two days later another household with their three children suffering similar skin disease have been reported in Bulla Halane. All the kids are currently admitted to Wajir County referral Hospital.
The children need further referrals to seek special treatment since Wajir County referral Hospital have no skin specialist and medical therapy to stabilize the children’s condition.
Families of the children are desperate to cater for their medical bills as they require skin moisturizers on daily basis. Owing to the financial situation of their parents, they unable to get the required medical attention.
Baby Abshir whose case is worse among all kids have been airlifted to Nairobi for medication on Monday and now admitted to Kenyatta National Hospital. Well-wishers have set up a pay bill number to support contributions for his medical bill, please help contribute to save life.
