Bungoma man shocks people with announcement to vie for the position of women rep.

A man from Bukembe village in Bungoma County has shocked many Kenyans by announcing his bid to vie for the position of County MP (women representative) in the coming elections.

Webster Wechuli, 40 and a father of four said even if he is of a male gender, he will compete with other aspirants during the ODM nominations.

Wechuli has already started distributing posters that he is interested in the seat that was initially preserved for women to help observe the two third rule.

He asked why men vote for women if the seat is not preserved for them. He added he had realized that the current women rep does not represent the interest of women at heart but as man, he has the interest of women at heart and deserves to serve them.
