Ahmednassir, Junet lash out at North Eastern leaders over Statehouse visits

By NJ Correspondent:

President Uhuru with a section of Degodia leaders and elders when he hosted them at State house this week.

Suna East MP Junet Mohamed and Senior Counsel Ahmednasir Abdullahi have taken issue with the recent craze of State House visits by leaders and clan elders from North Eastern Kenya.

The duo took to their twitter pages with Junet starting the conversation by tweeting “State house is now a conflict resolution Centre for the Somali community. Every clan goes there to register their complaints”

Lawyer Ahmednasir who never shies away from speaking his mind agreed with Junet and quoted a top unnamed Jubilee leader on how to deal with Somalis in Kenya as he ‘learnt’ from former President Daniel Arap Moi.

“You can kill their relatives, rape their daughters and mothers, burn their homes, deny them development, do what you want to them but when it comes to elections give them money, they forget what you did to them” quoted Ahmedsanir in his tweet attributed to a top Jubilee leader on the best lesson former President Daniel Arap Moi taught him on how to deal with Somalis in Kenya.

The conversation comes in the wake of back to back State House meetings between President Uhuru Kenyatta and a section of leaders and clans elders from Wajir’s Degodia, Ogaden and Ajuran communities as well as Mandera’s Murule and Garre clans.

In the latest meeting, Eldas MP and ODM national vice chairman Aden Keynan and his Tarbaj counterpart who is also a member of ODM Mohamed Elmi announced joining the Jubilee party and leading their Degodia clan to the party.

ODM has since announced stripping Keynan of his Chairman of a key parliamentary committee.

Keynan and Elmi defected after a long tussle with Wajir Governor Ahmed Abdullahi and are now backing former Kenyan envoy to Saudi Arabia Mohamed Abdi Mohamud to unseat him in the August polls.
