A young environmentalist from Garissa has called on youth in the country to play active roles in their respective communities while at the same time working with their peers from the rest of the country.
Speaking in Kamakunji’s YMCA hall in Nairobi after giving an inspirational talk to more than 120 young people from Nairobi, Amb. Abdikadir Aden Hassan, HSC, encouraged the young people to be proactive and create a niche for themselves rather than wait for employment.
Abdikadir shared his life experiences regarding his environmental work which has earned him several awards latest of which was the Queen’s Young Leaders’ Award.
The youth also discussed issues affecting them especially environmental conservation, Youth leadership, Entrepreneurship, Extremism, good governance, Human Rights as well as general challenges and opportunities for the Young People.
Mr. Abdikadir had a busy schedule in Nairobi hopping from one media house to the other giving interviews on his environmental work and the awards he received.
