Up to 36 people are feared dead following another daring attack in Kormey, 15 Km from Mandera town at around 1am today.
Gunmen suspected to be members of the dreaded Al-Shabaab militia struck the area killing quarry workers sleeping in tents.
The scene of the latest attack is about 30km from the November 20 raid on a bus in which 28 non-Muslims were separated from the Muslim travelers before being executed.
Hit and run grenade attacks were also carried out in Garissa and Wajir Counties in the past two days. Last night, one person was killed and more than thirteen others injured when armed gunmen attacked Ngamia club in Wajir.
Security personnel guarding the premises engaged the attackers in fierce gun battle sending panic and confusion across Wajir town.
