By Farah Adan, Wajir.
Wajir Governor Ahmed Abdullahi condemned last night’s attack on a popular club in the town in which one person was killed and more than ten others injured.
Speaking at Wajir County referral hospital after visiting the injured, Mr. Abdullahi sent his condolences to the family of the man who was killed and assured those who were injured of his Administration’s support.
He assured health workers that the Government will provide enough security personnel to guard the hospital including staff quarters.
He also called on area residents to volunteer useful information to the police to curb the rising insecurity in the County.
“It is time people of Wajir honestly and patriotically provide any information regarding the perpetrators of these acts to the police. Those who terrorized Wajir last night did not go far and live amongst us in the town” he said.
36 people were also killed this morning in Kormey, 15km from Mandera town ten days after a similar attack on a Nairobi bound bus in which 28 civilians were killed.
